Our Approach

EHR Governance – A Practical Guide to User Centric, Consensus Driven Optimization is based on the premise that governance done well speeds up change and leads to a positive user experience. The strategy focuses on developing an ongoing improvement cycle balanced between the 3Ds:  defining best practice, designing user-friendly interfaces and discovering insights through analytics, that is responsive to the 3Ps: the people, the process, and the platform.  This forms the foundation required for a Learning Healthcare System to successfully scale, automate and innovate.

While conceptually straight forward, leading this type of change involves ongoing support from leadership at the highest level, a clear understanding of current state and culture, as well as baseline metrics.  Defining your problems precisely – so your solutions are effective – is time well spent.  Measuring what matters lets you quantify impact and show return on your investment. And cultural awareness allows strategic alignment with organizational values.

One last caveat, this is a marathon, not a sprint.  More times than not, change will take years to become woven into the fabric of a culture.  Until then, it is susceptible to being undermined, overturned, and reversed.  As you embark on this (or any other) change journey, plan for a vision that is nurtured over the long horizon.
